envirotherm manufactures ‘Supernova’ bead. Supernova is a bonded bead insulation injected into the wall cavity of new and existing buildings. Installing Supernova into the cavity will NOT interfere with the cavity performance. The cavity will still breathe. The bead repels moisture and does not allow it to transfer across to the inner leaf of the cavity wall. Supernova improves the thermal performance of the wall maintaining the technical performance of the cavity.
Installing Supernova bonded bead cavity wall insulation is a very simple process. There are a series of 22mm holes (about the size of a euro coin) drilled strategically in the cavity walls. The bead is pumped in at these points with the binding agent added at the point of entry. Holes are drilled from the outside of the building for retrofitting existing homes. New homes are usually drilled from inside. All holes are filled with cement and a dye is used where necessary.
